Respite Services

What is Respite?

Respite services are short-term, practical solutions for those who need in-home or out-of-home support for up to 14 days. This service is helpful when your primary carer is unexpectedly unable to assist for short intervals.

Our Approach

Carelink Supports and Services respite services are available both in-home and for short-term accommodation (STA). STA provides an excellent opportunity for participants to build upon their independent living skills. We can even match you with other participants with similar needs for STA, which is a great way to meet people and boost your confidence.

NDIS and Respite

The cost of these services depends on the duration and type of support needed. Under NDIS guidelines, respite (or STA) is funding for support and accommodation for a short time away from your usual home.

Short Term Accommodation covers the cost of your care for up to 14 days. This includes:

  • Personal care

  • Accommodation

  • Food

  • Activities

Typically, you are only permitted 28 days of respite through the NDIS annually.
